‘The Evil of Frankenstein’ (1964) (B-Movie Review) — Part Three

When we last left off Zoltan had brainwashed the Creature and it went nuts.

Franky puts his foot down, ordering Zoltan to get the fuck out of his chateau leave his house. Zoltan sics the Creature on Franky, but he uses the power of the Dark Side ends up killing Zoltan, instead. Then, he throws a hissy fit and sets the lab on fire. (As all Frankensteins are legally required to do. Set a lab or a castle or a chateau on fire.)

The whole thing blows like Krakatoa, causing the lab, the chateau, and any outbuildings, sheds, and what have you to “topple over a cliff” (that’s how Wikipedia described it), taking Franky and the Creature down for the Final Count?

Some production history

The script for this film was based on a story synopsis Peter Bryant submitted in May 1958 for the Tales of Frankenstein, an aborted TV series.

This is not a sequel to The Revenge of Frankenstein. One critic noted that any “pretext of a connection” to that film “is dispensed with in a brazen display of contempt for continuity.”

A flashback  reveals backstory that never appeared in Revenge and was reportedly lifted from Universal’s Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman.

So glad we cleared that up.
